Spring is beginning to make an appearance.

Crocus in full bloom.
It's even early for them.

It hasn't been cold enough to kill them this winter.
I'm glad these aren't in my yard.

Tulips taking a peek.

A passing rain shower...
The sky still looks wintery.

Moth balls as a vole deterrent...
Hope they help.

I would hate to lose this tree
because those little critters ate its roots.
Years ago, I lost the one that draped in to my pond.

Several years ago,
someone planted ,what I think is watercress,
in the stream.
It has taken over the whole waterway.
This is also supposed to die off over the winter
but is obviously thriving..
I think it makes swimming difficult for the ducks.
This is the first year it has gotten this far.
I'm afraid it's here to stay.

Winter can find me at a loss for something to do.
So, I spend time doing things that
I don't have as much time for in the summer.

Stamping (Greeting card creating).
Replenishing my supply.

I'm making a cross stitch sampler
for a wedding gift.
I have to limit the time I work on it..
My hands, arms and eyes
aren't what they used to be.

I spend way too much time playing
Words With Friends.
It's fun though.

I've even found time to read which, if you know me,
is a rarity.
I love reading on my Kindle.

Then there is my laptop which takes up
hours of my time every day..
Sounds like I'm doing a lot of sitting.

Not to worry..Mollie gets me out and about.
She's good at that..thankfully.

Can't forget Mr Max..
I hope you are all enjoying this winter as well.
P.S...I saw a robin yesterday..

This is such a silly little video,
(It was good practice.)
I'm almost embarrassed to post it.
The last two mornings trying to take Mollie out
has been an adventure.
She runs back and forth from the living room
to the front door about six times
trying to decide what to do.
(Max is in the living room.)
"Do I want to annoy Max or go for a walk?"
She finally chose the walk but when she got back
she picked up where she left off..

Whatever am I to do???

Did you ever see such contentment ?

Such bliss?
"Do me, do me."

This is kitty heaven..

"Don't ever stop!"

When I come back to bed at night
after visiting the bathroom,
Max often appears "in my face"
for some scratching.

One day last week,
Mollie and I headed for the hills.

No Mollie, we're not there yet.

Looks like a winter landscape...
It will soon be green with the onset of Spring.

Here and there are pretty farms
dotting the countryside.

Love this barn..

I never noticed the cow on the side of this barn
until I took this picture.

Upon arrival at the farm one sees
a lovely pond with it's resident ducks.
To the left one can see the barn and dry lot.

Hmmm... Which way shall we go Mollie ??

She begged to go see the chickens...

Sorry Mollie, roosters will have to do.

Once inside ,
it was evident that there was a project
in progress.

Ta Da..
It's nice to see two very capable people
 work together amicably...
(There was a brief sticking out of tongues
 at each other...)

After a nice lunch and some errands in town,
we headed back to "the flat lands",
stopping at the barn on the way out.

The garden is anxiously awaiting new seeds.

Moonbeam has the day off.

Donnie Brasco in his winter coat.

Handsome rooster..

Here come the turkeys , Leo..

Such handsome birds...

Who knew that chickens sat in trees??

No visit is complete without seeing the "piglets".

I'm thinking that
they're too big to be called "piglets" anymore.

Until next time...
Thanks for your hospitality.

Recently I was introduced to
"Big Huge Labs".
It's a photo editing site.

Who better to practice on than your
pets and family??

I apologize (sorta).

It was fun..
Practice, practice, practice....

Recently, I moved Max's food into
                       the guestroom bathtub.
He seems to have trouble making the leap
    to the bathroom counter top.

This seems to have provided Mollie
with another opportunity to lie in wait.

Never misses the chance to pounce..

The basement stairs...a favorite.
She sometimes sleeps on the landing.

"Is she still there?? Can I make it?"

"Thanks for running interference, Mom."

In spite of everything,
Max is always at the door when we
come back from our walks.

"I feel safe when you're here."
He's big but he's also very furry..He and Mollie weigh the same..
