The robins have invaded the neighborhood.
I counted 16 and probably missed some.

Slowly but surely
but only now and then,
the other birds are starting to make a return.

American Goldfinch

These guys have been around all winter.
I think they're mockingbirds but 
they are much fatter than the ones in my bird book.
(Better do some research)
They are definitely Mockingbirds.
(Bad picture in my book)
They finally manged to eat all the berries.
The smaller birds keep their distance
when these guys are around. 


And, several days later, there are four...
It's nice to see them back.

On the other hand, these guys

are not particularly welcome...

They tend to keep the nice birds away...

the black cat that we've seen in the wetlands
over the years,
was hit by a car. We'll miss him.
