Max has been watching me pack the past few weeks.

He wanted to have a say about how he was packed.

"Make sure there's enough paper so I don't get bruised."

"Maybe this will be the right fit !"

"Ah...Perfect !!"
" Now to find the right box."

This past weekend was particularly warm and with it came an influx of THESE...

It's cooler today..Hope they'll soon be gone.

Four or so months ago,
I did a post about my neighbors little boy.
They were moving back home to Indiana.

We've been in touch since they left.
"Mackin" is a year old today.

Could this be any cuter???

Meet "Big Mollie".

"Big Mollie" is probably "Little Mollies" BFF.
Don't tell Sparky, but I think he's been replaced.

"Big Mollie" is a mix..SOLID muscle and very sweet.

"Big Mollies" mom and I have to be really careful because they tend to get crazy and wound up in their leashes..We also have to be careful that "little Mollie" doesn't get hurt. "Big Mollie" has been known to lie or sit on her and "Little Mollie" just keeps coming back for more.

"Gonna get cha".

"I has a secret and kisses".
(Or.."I'm gonna grab that ear!")

All played out..for now..
My Mollie has nipped "Big Mollies " ear and even bitten her one time when they got tied up and she couldn't get away..
Still buddies to the end..

We've had 24 hours of much needed rain.
2 1/2 inches !

I love "after the storm" skies.

Across the street the water runs from the upper right side of the picture and down to the side walk.

It then runs down the side walk to the sewer drain.
The water is several inches deep and good for white water rafting :)

I guess it would be more impressive with video and sound..Next time.

Out behind my pond I have my own little rapids.

The finches are losing their summer color.

I hope your day is storm free.

My water lilies have been blooming daily
 the past few weeks.

It won't be too long before they succumb to the ravages of frost.

Sadly, they only last three days.
Unblemished, perfect....

You can see bulbous plants floating in the water among the lilies. Their roots are hairy and a foot long providing some filtration.

They are water hyacinths that almost NEVER bloom.
(for me).

I buy them in early spring to provide shade until the lily pads appear. Shade keeps down algae growth.
They multiply like rabbits and I have given away buckets full. I only bought three.

They are annuals and the first frost will kill them.
I've probably only had two bloom in eight years.
This is, indeed, a banner year with four.

This is fortunately an infrequent visitor to my bird feeder.

I'm guessing that I'll soon have to replace this feeder.
He'll probably destroy it.

When my sister and her husband were here recently,
we had corn on the cob..Yum
Did you ever see an ear like this???

This past spring I did several posts about the bullfrogs in my pond. At one point there were five. It seems  that this one was full of eggs which were later found in the bottom part of my neighbors fountain in the form of tadpoles.

Little by little over the summer all the frogs have disappeared.

"She" has returned and has been here by herself for the  past several weeks. Frogs are known to be territorial so...Maybe this is "her territory" and the boys only visit in the spring.
It sounds like a good story anyway.

Several evenings ago,
my neighbor brought me some left over lasagna.
With it I got a lecture about how I should keep my doors locked especially since my house was on the market.
I gave it some thought and

The following day my realtor called to ask if they could show the house that afternoon.
After I turned on all the lights (really bugs me), I grabbed Mollie , locked the front door and left from  the garage..

When I returned home an hour later, I looked for an agents card and found none..Where they here?? How rude of them not to leave a card!
After turning all the lights off,
I opened the front door and tried to go through the storm door...LOCKED !!
I had locked them out..Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Fortunately they rescheduled because "they really love the house."

I hope lemonade, cookies and a note of apology helps.
I guess we'll see.
(That door has NOT been locked since.)

They bought the house...YAY!!!

This is pretty much my life for now.

And Mowing.
Ah, the joys of showing a house.
Exciting post??
How do you think I feel?
I mowed yesterday and am going to go vacuum now.
It's all for a good cause..
I hope you're having a wonderful day.
