MOVING DAY PLUS ONE

I didn't want to move Max and Mollie on moving day so I slept in my old house that night and moved them the next morning.

Max spent the day under the couch and I expect that a full bladder made him make an appearance.

He's been "Mr Inquisitive" since then,
exploring every nook and cranny. I finally just opened all the doors and let him explore.

I have to watch him with the outside doors because he wants out!!!!
Mollie has has a field day chasing squirrels. I really have to hold on to her.

The windows here are high so they can't see out like they are used to doing.

I got a twin sleeper for me to sleep on when my sister and her husband come..They can have my bed.
( I got rid of the end table..too much furniture).

Ann (my sister) was here over the weekend and decided to try it out..
(There are mints on her pillow).

MOVING DAY

Well, it's finally here..moving day.

Of course the weather did its part...
Intermittent showers..

I don't have to be out of my house until the 10th so I left pictures and some other things until I was sure I was going to use them.

The house will be cleaned out and everything taken to auction and the carpets cleaned before then.

It took 2 1/2 hours to load the truck and it was loaded !!!
One item had to go in the van.

 More on Wednesday....

" I HOPE YOU'LL DANCE "

This sign was the subject of one of my blogger buddies posts.
I found it very moving, meaningful.
Maybe it was the mood I was in at the time..

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING

It's moving time !

I've  kinda been packing little by little for over a year.

Now it's time to get serious...
( You thought maybe I was doing this for fun?)

Since it's only a matter of a couple of miles, I thought it might be a good idea to move the kitchen and closets over and get them organized before everything else arrived.

My biggest supporters ,Ann and Bev, were there to give me a helping hand (or two). It's so much easier when you can just put things in the car..you don't have to pack and unpack them.

NO MORE THISTLE

The finches have returned to the feeders.

They seem to like regular food (nuts and seeds) as well as or better than thistle.

The "wetlands" in the background is full of  thistle.

For that reason,
we don't see Finches at the feeders most of the summer.
The thistle has now "gone to seed" so the Finches have returned.

OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

The sunrise was beautiful this morning.

I think I caught one of our resident Blue Herons
looking for his breakfast.

I used to see these skies when I was working
and driving east across the river.

 Natures canvas..

It was worth getting up early this AM.

SNEAKIN' UP ON IT !!

It has been said that patience is a virtue..
Unfortunately, it's not one of mine.

I'm running out of things to do in my house and am anxious to start moving things to my new one.
I managed to busy myself cleaning  above the cabinets in the kitchen and taking stuff down that is going to auction.

Then I took some things over to the "cottage"
and put them in a cabinet that my neighbors and I put together last night..(2 hrs).

I have another cabinet to put together but the corner that it will go in is full of paint cans..Do you think I might be rushing them ??
That's my washer and drier in the left side of the picture..still in the garage.

I did the peg board last weekend.
They told me I could move stuff in to the garage but not in to the house until I start paying.
(That will be after next weekend.)

The floors aren't finished yet so I really can't move anything else yet anyway..
Next weekend will come soon enough..?

FIRST HARD FREEZE

This past weekend we experienced our first hard freeze.

It was 30 degrees when Mollie and I set out on our walk. That was at 8 o'clock !!

The roses and other tender buds were none too happy.

Even my birdbath had a little ice on it.

None the less,
it was a pretty,crisp, sunny morning .
It warmed up rapidly.

It's a wonderful time of year.

MEMORIES.... Send In The Clowns

Someone sent me this the other day.
I have to say
that it made me very sad..melancholy.

YouRememberThat.Com - Taking You Back In Time... - Send In The Clowns

I used to be a critical care supervisor
and I worked the night shift.
Invariably,
when I was making my rounds in the CCU,
it would  be playing on their radio..
It became known as my song...So many memories.

A TYPICAL FALL DAY

It's kind of a dismal, chilly day today.

Makes me wonder if I should turn the heat on.

I tend to delay the inevitable.

It's almost time to put the pond to bed
for the winter.

CAMERA FREEZE

Did your camera ever freeze??

I was taking this sunset, zooming a little and my camera froze..Just like my computer does.
??What to do??
I did the same thing I do when my computer freezes.
I took the battery out and reinserted it.
Fortunately, it did the trick..

This is it..The end for 2012.
(the flowers, that is).
