A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME

This week we had a little tease...

Certainly not a significant snow fall..

But a reminder that winter's not far away.

SILLY SOCKS

I grew up with the wearer of these socks.

(She who shall not be named).
I would recognize them anywhere. I had to laugh when I saw them.
Who else wears holes in the tops of their socks???

SPIDER ART

I find spider webs intriguing...
think about all the spider labor it took to create it.

Such a work of art.

ORGANIZED ( I HOPE)

This past weekend I , again, went through the storage areas in the garage.

I had to see what was in these boxes and make it possible to get to them. Nice to have some empty shelves.

The boxes on the left are empty but I want to keep them..They are good boxes.

Ah, much better.

JUST STUFF

This grasshopper was on this screen for three days before I decided to rescue it after seeing a bird trying to dislodge it..It had moved from this place several times so I didn't think it was stuck. Probably cold??

By now you know that I have one way glass in my storm door. It has proven to be a valuable asset to Mollie and Max.

The two of them would lie there all day and watch the birds and the squirrels if I left the door open.
It's getting a little cold for that.

They don't even know we're here...

Fun !

My friend, "the grass man", brought and planted a Japanese Maple for me last weekend. It just wouldn't be my house without one.

Thanks Chuck...

STREET WALKER

Mollie spent a lot of her walk
balancing on the curbs at our old home.

I guess that's her little sidewalk..
after all, it's just her size.

We have moved to our new place.
There are no sidewalks and she has
 become a street walker.
(She will have a lot of adjustments.)

FALL CLEAN UP

It was a nice day so I thought I'd take Mollie out
and do some cleaning up.

My garage was full of leaves as were my beds.

I had just finished the garage when the  "leaf guys"
started down my street.

They have quite a system..This man just walks back and forth across the street blowing the leaves ahead of him.

In doing this, he creates quite a dust storm and none of them wear masks !!!

In the mean time the others are blowing leaves into the street from flower beds in front and behind the cottages.

The mower is used to shove everything into a pile leaving everything behind them clean.

Then all the leaves are sucked up by a big vacuum into a truck.

These pictures were taken through my door that has one way glass in it.

I guess it has it's advantages  !!

PS  God bless our Veterans. We owe them so much.
Thank you.

SHADOWS

I had lived in this house for eleven years and  had never before seen this....

 What is behind my shade??

It's pretty obvious now that I know what it is.

I guess I've never been at this window when the sun was in this particular position..Hard to believe.
Enjoy this beautiful day.

FROM THERE TO HERE

This past weekend I cleaned out the old homestead.

I must be getting old..It was a lot of work.
Fortunately one of my friends/neighbors vacuumed the basement for me.

I took Mollie with me so I wouldn't have to come back to let her out.
She didn't lie down for a minute.

She was one tired pup when we got back home.

 My den or second bedroom..

Living room...

 Dining room/ kitchen..
(excuse the jacket)

Bedroom..
(Max's room)
I still have a little tweaking to do but it's very liveable.
