Life sometimes gets a little confusing for Max...
Poor Max.
Several days ago, after cleaning out his littler box,
I put the lid on backwards so the opening was up against the desk.

Of course, I didn't do this on purpose.
He was denied access to his potty for twelve hours !!!
How would you feel?? What would you do ??
He just held it and was very relieved, (literally),
when things got turned around the right way that evening.

 Ah, much better...

When I was at a garden center the other day
these were at the check out.
BM (before Mollie) these were all over the house, stuffed everywhere.
I got rid of them because I was afraid Mollie would choke on them.
I thought Max deserved a treat so I bought one.
He batted it all over the house until Mollie realized what he had.
Of course she put an end to the fun.
"No playing in this house unless I'm included."
I'll get it out the next time Mollie is at the groomers.

It hardly seems possible that it was five years ago
that I welcomed this little ball of fluff into my life.

It was love at first sight.
She has experienced and learned a lot in those short five years.

Her first Halloween.
It was time for her to be groomed. (Past time).
She's had puppy cuts to this day.

Never deterred by rain, sleet or snow, she's  more than willing to go out into any kind of weather.
(As long as there are no thunderstorms around).

She enjoys taking her half sister for long walks.

 Her groomer says "she's easy".

Rooting for Penn State is a favorite past time
 during football season.

Mollie is very patriotic but isn't fond of fireworks.

She has even proven to be a good patient as evidenced by
her allowing me to put warm compresses on her "owie".
(She had an anal gland abscess.)

I'd like to think that Max is her best buddy altho I'm not too sure.
There isn't too much "quiet togetherness"  like this.

Well traveled, she loves "goin'  byes" in the car.

This is her usual interaction with Max.
All in all, she's been a joy.

How can you not love this face??

"I love you Mom".

Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day
and honored only those who died fighting in the Civil War.
As we got involved in more conflicts and wars
it was used as a way to remember American soldiers who die
in all wars while serving our country.

In the late 60's the last Monday in May was designated as
Memorial Day and  became a Federal Holiday.
There are many parades all across the United States
 celebrating our Veterans.
This day unofficially marks the first day of summer
(get out your white pants and shoes)
and many family picnics and parties are held.
After you've done all your shopping and barbequing,
please take the time to give thanks
to all those Veterans and their families for their sacrifice.

Have a safe weekend ...

Try as I might,
I can't find this picture in my bird book.
Isn't he cute??

My bird feeders are squirrel proof
except for what they can get at around the edges.

This is the first time I've had a "chippy" in my feeders.

His little cheeks are full of my birdseed.
I may have to go back to peppered bird seed.
Time will tell.

This was this morning.
See him peeking his chubby cheeks around for a peek?
I guess I should call these "rodent feeders".

"Big Foot", aka "Max"
tracks kitty litter from one end of the cottage to the other.
Each morning I sweep the length of my house.
Having hardwood floors makes it a quick and easy exercise .

Occasionally Once in awhile I brush it out of the upholstery
by removing the cushions.

" Hey missed some here !"

"Whatcha doin Max ?"

Max : "Nothing I need your help with Mollie."

Mollie: " I was only trying to help.
Can I watch the critters through the one way glass with you?"

Max:  "Only if you are berry berry quiet."

This is my sister , Ann.
Mollie and I went to visit her and hubs in West Va. this weekend.

During our visit there are always frequent walks with the dogs.
This is a frequent scene. There were about eight of them .

Mollie pulling one hand and the camera in the other
 doesn't make for clear pictures..

Someone had planted these Iris along the road.
I guess the deer don't like Iris.

Being in the woods, it is very buggy and I really get chewed up.
Ann was kind enough to let me use her "bug gear".

Aren't I just the cats meow??
Hey, it works !!
There have been bear sightings so we were careful
not to go out after dark.

The other evening,
I was on my computer and I looked up to see this.

"Oh, get that thing out of my face
 you've seen me sleeping before."

It's amazing to me how he can sleep in some of these positions.

He never seems to fall off or out of anything.

Nothing uptight about this cat.

Then there's Mollie...

She's pretty much the same way.

No modesty here....

What more can I say???

Saying her prayers?

Don't you wish you could fall asleep in the wink of an eye?
We'd probably get hurt.
