As promised a week or so ago ...

When Max first made my home his,
he would only drink from a dripping spigot.
This was very inconvenient in many ways.

If I left him over night, he just didn't drink.
I could tell, because he always splashed water when he drank..

As you can see, he hasn't forgotten how..

After quite some time...months,
we got him to drink from this fountain.

Finally !!!
He graduated to a dish..years later.
He drinks a lot and often.

Oh by the way, he's back to his old dish..

Can't win 'em all..or even most of them..
Enjoy your week.

Cats are funny. My old cat would drink from a bowl, but he would also jump in the bathroom sink and cry until I turned the water on at a trickle. He'd drink from that too.

Missy, It's cute how Max drinks from the faucet. I see you have a cloth under the water dishes. I always had a placemat under our cat's dishes. One of those plastic things....easy to wipe clean and kept any messes off the floor. We do love our pets, don't we? xoxo, Susie

Oh Max, your are too funny. I'm trying a new drip watering for my chickens and it isn't going so well. Maybe this summer when there is no rain water available they may use it. Crazy animals!!

Oh- I love it, Missy. I had a Maine Coon and he would put his head between the faucet and the handle and bump his head up until he turned the water on. I was always afraid he was going to turn it on and the stopper would be down in the sink and it would overflow all over the floor. That never happened. He was one of the best cats I ever had. I still miss him. xo Diana

Max is so like one of my cats who really preferred a dripping spigot if only I would have allowed it. Cats are pretty finicky about fresh, aerated water, that's for sure, but who can blame them? I wouldn't want a bowl of water on the floor either. Ha!
