This past weekend, we held our fall FAIR...
There was the usual assortment of home made goodies.

Hand knit items..

and furniture that apparently did very well.
I got there three hours after we opened and the furniture was pretty well cleaned out.

There are always electronics of one kind or another..
We had six TV's to sell and there was only one left at noon.

Lamps..I think I remember these from last year..

Video tapes...Does anyone play these anymore??
That may explain the price...

There were loads of books..all subjects..

The artificial flowers
could  be cut up to make new arrangements or wreaths.

As always there was a variety of glassware, china
and pots and pans ...

A lot of people put a lot of time and energy in to this event.
We don't know what the future holds
because this building is slated for a major renovation .
I guess time will tell.
Thanks to all the worker bees for their contributions.

I recently bought Mollie, my dog, a new bed.
Her other one was beginning to get threadbare.

I have yet to see her sleeping in it.
It seems that Max has taken it over.

I guess I will be getting Kitty litter in this corner now as well.

Since I took these pictures, no one seems interested in it...
Enjoy your weekend !!!

My husband and I used to spend a lot of time "antiquing".
This area has a wide diversity
of shops, markets and auction houses.

My sister had taken several things here to be auctioned.
They called her to tell her that a bidder had not paid for an item and would she like to pick it up or put it in a later auction ??
She decided to pick it up so I went along, camera in tow.
They were kind enough to let me take pictures.

I just love old things..I'm sure they all have stories to tell...

I would love to have the sofa table
that the lamps on the right are sitting on.
It's much nicer than my contemporary oak one.
Don't you just "love" the feathered lampshade on the parrot?

Now I know where all the old Santas go..
There were lots of these...

Musical instruments..

Some ceramic, china and clay/stone items.
Sorry, but I know nothing about any of these things.

Old furniture reminds me of growing up in Philadelphia
with family furniture.
Most of it is long gone but my sister and I still have a few pieces.

I didn't have much time to examine these items..
That's probably a good thing.
I did notice that cute little writing desk in the middle right picture.

I enjoyed my visit and
thanks Ellen for allowing me to take pictures.

I was walking past my bedroom window
and I noticed a shimmer from the corner of my eye.

I stood and watched it for several seconds.
There was a slight breeze and in the sunlight it was just dancing.

I never cease to be amazed at the intricacies of spider webs.

I hope there is a little shimmer in your day.

Last weekend we held a Pig Roast to benefit
our "Building Our Community" fund.

One of our local farms caters events like this.

There were two pigs
and the event was open to our local community.

The "Building Our Community Fund" is going to be used to
renovate our community room and adjacent areas.
This is a three stage project and we've almost raised enough
for Phase One !!!

These are some of our associates and "Louise" who took most of these pictures.
We arrived at the later sitting and the "roaster" had already gone.
Thanks for sharing Louise.

Once a year ? our parent company sends us monies for Capital expenses. "Extra money" ?
This year some of it is being spent updating !!

The oldest heating and air conditioning units are being replaced.
This particular one died before it was replaced.

The oldest roofs are also being replaced.

Shutters and railings are being painted.

Driveways, streets and parking lots are being sealed.
I hope I can breathe when this day is over ...
my eyes are burning as well.

Who wears white pants to do this job??
He's mostly been walking up and down,
talking on his cell phone and smoking.

The activity level around here is pretty high.
I hope there is some peace in your day.
