CARDINALS

I looked out of my kitchen window one morning and saw several pairs of Cardinals wandering through the grass.

I thought this to be pretty unusual.

They mowed yesterday.
Did they stir up something that would attract a Cardinal ?

Until I saw these pictures,
I didn't realize that there were violets in the grass.
I should have known, they are all over the neighborhood.

Could they be after the nectar?

Pretty tree ..

Have a marvelous week!!

The Cardinals are so pretty, as is the tree.
We noticed yesterday, the birds were picking up grasshoppers out of our lawn.

Good Morning, Missy! I love your Cardinals. They could be after bugs in the grass? The little violets are pretty. Have a happy day and week ahead!

Lucky to have more than one pair of cardinals...

Violets in your grass. Isn't that wonderful???? Because I figure that grass that is maintained by a company, is sprayed within an inch of its life. And thus, violets would not survive. Wonnnnderful that they are.

Different time for violets. here they come first thing in the spring. but then, perhaps they are still around, but grandson is cutting our lawn.

must go out and look for nearly July violets. :-)

We have violets around too. It is unusual, here anyway, to see several pairs of cardinals together. Maybe bugs?? One looks like it is listening.

I know that robins wander around the lawn, listening intently for worms beneath the surface. Then WHAMMO! Breakfast.

Cardinal mania would be a happy day for me . . .
You too?
I think some little tidbit is enticing them . . .
Maybe the violets . . . maybe . . .

I don't really know what cardinals like to eat. i just know that they're beautiful birds. Maybe, now that the grass is shorter, they can get to the bugs better! Don't they eat bugs????

Pretty photos! I think Cardinals eat bugs sometimes, so maybe they're eating what was stirred up?
