BIG WINDS AND HARD RAIN

We have had some pretty severe summer storms lately.
They didn't last long ..
maybe an inch and a half of rain in an hour.
I have one tree that doesn't hold up well to these.

When it is bare,
one can see several broken branches hanging here and there.

My daises are a bit battered as well.

I may be wishing for these storms soon...
No rain, temps in the 90's and Hi humidity are in our future.

Of course the rains bring out the worms...

Have you ever seen a Woodpecker at a bird feeder?

Have a pleasant week..

We are having a Repeat Performance here . . .
Rain, wind, 90 yesterday, humid . . . it must be summer.
And the winds bring fallen branches and twigs . . .
It took a two hour pick up before my mow the other say . . .
Do you sit out under the tree on the garden benches?

Sorry about the broken limbs. We are very hot/humid too. We've been watering every other day. Cute photo of the bird with the worm. Looks like the woodpecker is enjoying the food, too.

Oh sigh... The rain is welcome. But not in torrents and with high winds. Things do get battered. and not all flowers are able to pop back up again.

Heat here, for the week too! Guess this is to be a week of real Summer. Time to plan easy and non cooking meals. :-)

Hello Missy, sorry about your tree and pretty daisies. I love the cute birds. Yes, I have seen the woodies at my feeders. Stay cool, it is hot and humid now. Happy Monday, have a great new week!

I don't think I've ever seen a woodpecker at a feeder. Always pecking at a tree! We haven't had rain for quite awhile now. Upper 80s all week. That's hot enough! Stay cool!

Your poor tree! That must've been some serious wind! That woodpecker at the feeder is so cool. Interesting, how he holds on to eat.

It's been hot and humid here, too. The norm for Georgia, unfortunately.

Take care, Missy!

Hope you link the woodpecker to WBW.

My goodness, that wind really blew! I've never seen a woodpecker at a feeder, cute! I'm home from my third and final trip of the summer. I must admit it felt so good to sleep in my own bed last night. Now it yard work, weeds are huge!!!
