FREQUENT VISITORS

I think this is a Golden Fronted Woodpecker ?

He's not at all camera shy...

It's always fun to see the Hummers..never two at a time.

I just took this feeder down..I haven't seen a Hummingbird in over a month..

Hello Missy, pretty shots of your visitors. I love the woodies and the sweet hummers. On the east coast we only have the Redbellied Woodpeckers, the golden fronted would be seen in the southwest like New Mexico or Texas?

Enjoy your day!

Handsome fellow he is!!!

Have only seen one hummer too. Although I don't have a feeder.

Should we begin to worry about them too? Along with the bees and the fireflies??? -sigh-

The woodpecker is gorgeous. I see a sparkle in his eye in that one picture!

I did not put up a hummer feeder this year. September is when we see the most hummingbirds.

Enjoy your day, Missy.

Sure looks like a Golden-fronted Woodpecker to me. A front shot of the head would clinch the i.d, but there are enough other characters visible to pretty much confirm it.

Nice pictures! I don't think I've ever seen one of those woodpeckers before. We've had a couple hummingbirds dart around our yard this year. They sure go fast.

We have about 4 hummingbirds hanging around. They're always chasing each other away from the feeders. They do seem to leave each other alone among the flowers. We have red breasted woodpeckers here, and I see them once in awhile here in the woods. Often we hear them knocking on the trees in search of food. I don't put out bird feeders because of the squirrels. But I do have a couple of bird baths to help the birds here. Love your photos of the woodpecker.

you have me curious ... i was just thinking i have not seen our neighborhood woodpeckers in a long time. we usually see Woody & his wife ... the pileated (is that spelled right? google says it is wrong? weird??) woodpecker, & we have one of these guys too ... & that tiny little greyish blue woodpecker too ... they are super tiny ... jump around a lot ... i wonder if woodpeckers hide in the summer? maybe they don't like the heat? i wonder. i love how you always get my mind working. thanks, for that. have a nice day! stay cool. (in more ways that one, i love saying that, it's true though.)

These are splendid pictures of the woodpecker. I often see the red headed woodpecker at a trail that I walk on, and they are so fascinating to watch.

Your posts are filled with beauty and simplicity - two things which I appreciate.
