THE BLIZZARD OF 2016

 The calm before the storm.

It began around four o'clock  on Friday and lasted 24 hours.
This is the first morning during the storm.

These stakes will be barely visible as will the mailboxes.

This is my path from the side garage door to the driveway.
We had this much accumulation over night.
It was very light and powdery....easy to shovel.
Eight more hours to go.

Mollies early walk was under the eaves...

This is how it looked by lunchtime.

My sisters house down the street..

The feeders are always busy....

Glad I don't have to dig this out...
Look where the side view mirror is

 It stopped around six..set a record.....30+ inches
To be continued..

Linking with Stewart

I know, it's a stretch!!

Hello Missy, I think you have more there than we did. My used the measuring stick and we had 20 inches. And that was enough for us, way too much! Does your Molloe like the snow, she could get lost in it. Pretty photos! Happy Monday, enjoy your new week ahead!

Wow! Impressive photos! For once Chicago was spared, but we've been there. Pretty but a real pain.

Holy Moly!! I've never seen that much snow in one place before. Will you ever get out from under it all?

Oh Missy, that is way too much snow ! I thought Mollie was so clever to walk along the house where it wasn't so deep. Poor birds, probably eating like crazy. I hope your snow doesn't last long...but then melting makes flooding a possibility and that is what makes me crazy. Be safe, thinking of you, blessings, xoxo,Susie

unsure how much we did receive, the winds were so rough & really moved it around. we did make a path for the hubby to leave for work. but i will be shoveling more each day to get my vehicle out some day. i am not going to be in a hurry. but some day want to get out. it is such a heavy snow, unlike snow in the past where i felt i could just slide it off the driveway. this kind will take lots of extra work. i am not complaining just saying it will be a very very slow work. & it doesn't help when the neighborhood plowing folks put it right where you just removed it from??! nuts. ha. ha!! Wow... You sure did get a lot of snow!!! It has been awhile since we got snow like that here in Ohio. All our snow has melted and it has been in the 40's here.

Yikes Missy! We haven't had much snowfall in the Chicagoland area. Keeping my fingers crossed! The hubby and I always have to make those paths for the little guy, but it looks like he enjoys walking through those half tunnels. It must be fun or something different to experience! As for the birds, it's always busy at the feeders in the winter. There are times when I can't keep up with those little buggers! Stay warm friend!

Oh my!!! That's SOOO much snow! Hope except for having to walk the dog and maybe refill the bird feeders you've been able to stay inside. Loved seeing the photos.
