Yesterday morning we awoke to an ice covered world.

Starting the evening before we had several inches of snow followed by a coating of ice followed by heavy rain
 that lasted all morning.

There was a lot of standing water that was unable to penetrate
through the ice.

Our streets were cleared by nine thirty.
My driveway was done after I took this picture.

If the sequence of precipitation had been different,
we could have had a very dangerous situation.
As it was , it was just very wet.
The temperatures helped as well...
from just above freezing early, to the fifties late morning and back to the thirties during the night last night.
The sun was actually out in the early afternoon.
What a crazy day.

Mollie even got her long walk in albeit a few hours late.

Hello, we had much the same here too. Snow, ice then rain! I am so glad the temperatures went up and everything melted.

Mollie was happy to go on her walk. Have a happy day!

Wow-- pretty but you're right about being dangerous. Glad everything was OK!

Missy, That is so scary... ice does so much damage to our trees and plants. The picture you took from your porch of the neighborhood street and your driveway...I love it. Please be careful going out. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

Most of my Australian friends think I'm mad that I like the winter - but the crisp and not bugs line struck a chord with me!

Crazy crazy weather! It's supposed to be 65 degrees in some Northern IL. spots tomorrow!

Wow! It wasn't that long ago we had that much snow, but since the sun decided to warm things up a bit, our snow is all melted - causing flooding in some areas but for the most part, spring is on it's way. Stay warm and don't slip!
