A CORNY POST

Our property is bordered by a corn field.
Last year it was Soy Beans.

The squirrels are having a field day and it's not unusual to see
a squirrel running up a tree with a corn cob in its mouth.

Corn silk is strewn all over the place.

The corn along the edges of the field is pretty chewed up.
I'm pretty sure this is feed corn. It's always harvested late if at all.

I don't know who they think is going to clean up after them.

This was the recent Harvest Moon...Not quite full.

Have a fun weekend.

Good Morning, Oh, the moon shot is wonderful. Your squirrel pics are so cute. Love the "eye" in the one picture. They are quite the pigs with eating the corn, aren't they?

Missy, Great pictures. I laugh whenever I see a squirrel with a whole ear of corn. They sure should have plenty to eat. Hope your weekend will be a fun one. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Corn silk residue wouldn't be fun to have around . . .
Those squirrels do quite the number on that field corn . . .

I hope the farmer who owns that field doesn't see your post! Ha, ha... Once in awhile I find a chewed corn cob in my yard; must be from some Fall wreath, etc. No farm fields by me. Have a nice weekend!

Hello!:) Such cute photos of the squirrel, ...they are smart critters, and can work out how to get to any out of reach feeder. If only they could be taught to clear up the corn silk, and put it in the trash cans!:)

LOL at those crazy squirrels -- I don't think THEY think about who will clean up after them. They have a 'what-me worry?' attitude. lol

Great photos but that moon shot is spectacular! xo Diana

Those squirrels hit the jackpot didn't they?! They leave nothing to waste. My neighbors throw out corn to their chickens and we have spotted the squirrels stealing it from them and climbing up the trees with it. So funny!!

Oh I just love your moon shot.

The squirrels always look cute to me, but I do know they are not loved by everyone ...

All the best Jan

What great shots!

Very corny indeed - but I do like it! I think Possums (not the same species as the ones in the US) do the same to our tomatoes!
