It's the time of year when I change my bed from summer to winter.
That means a trip to the Laundromat or doing wash all week.

I walked through the house and grabbed everything that could stand to be washed....Jackets included.
Mollies things too.

I used four washers at $6.50 a pop !

All clean..

A morning well spent.

Another seasonal chore is switching shoes from summer to winter.

I guess I'm all ready for winter and none too soon.

I earned this!

I was doing some dishes the other day and noticed a rather large bird in the distance.
I grabbed my camera and zoomed in to see what it was.
A Common Flicker had found something interesting.

This was his behavior for several minutes.

"Uh oh, someone is coming."

Sorry I cut their heads off but they were doing
a mating dance? and moving quite rapidly up and down
and back and forth..This was the best shot I was able to get.

This Blue Jay seemed quite interested.

"Hello there Mr. Jay."

 Isn't he a happy soul ?

He should be...

This is the second nut/seed block he's gone through
 in as many days.

I won't be investing in any more of those.
The birds never had a chance.

It was a good photo op...

This poor guy tried several to join him but was chased away.
He had to wait until it was on the ground
where they will carry it away never to be seen again.

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.
Are you out shopping to burn off all those calories?

It's that time again....

They have been around twice..
Rumor has it that they will be back again.

Altho I'm glad that I don't have to do it,
I do it anyway, just to be out there.
I leave the leaves in piles for them.

Their way may be efficient but it's very dirty.
When they've been here, the air is full of dust,
noses run and eyes burn..not very healthy, I think.

This was right outside my front door...YUK

This is right inside my front door...double YUK

Lot's of mold and fungus blowing around.
A mask would probably come in handy.

They were back today for the final mowing which,
with a lot of help from all the wind we've had,
also took care of the leaves.
Seems to be a much cleaner way to take care of the leaves
and cut the grass as well.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving..Enjoy

A friend brought her eight week old English Setter puppy over
last week to meet Mollie.

"Stella" was taken off her leash and they ran each other ragged
for quite some time.
I'd love to take Mollie off hers but she would be in the next county.
She doesn't listen when she's free outside.

It was hard to get good pictures..nobody was still very long.

I think maybe "Phantom" would have been a good name for her.
She looks like two different dogs.

Her spots are just beginning to appear.
She's going to be a bird dog and , like Mollie,
kept her nose to the ground most of the time.
Not that Mollie is a bird dog
She prefers rodents...look out chippies !

Please come and visit again soon..
Mollie slept the rest of the day.

Next to my back door there is an area that Mollie cuts across each time we come back home.

Her feet are always wet from running thru the grass.
I wipe them off but....

I decided that I needed to stop her from cutting that corner.

I found this pretty rock up by the farmhouse.
Pretty heavy, that is !

Digging around here is not easy..lot's of roots.
I had some other holes that I needed to have dug so I called my
"go to" buddy Chuck to help me out.
I moved a shrub from my garden..It will stay low and spread.

I had this Coneflower in a pot and found some mulch
up by the maintenance building.

 Much better ! Thanks Chuck...
