COOPERS HAWK

This Coopers Hawk spent most of the morning
sitting across the street just watching and waiting.

These pictures were taken through my storm door
which has one way glass making the pictures a bit cloudy.

We see him pretty often ...
The other day, he was flying overhead with a squirrel in his beak .
Several crows were chasing him and he had to drop his prey
which was either already dead or died from the fall.

Watch Mollie carefully . . .
Sometimes, when Snickers and I are out walking
I can hear and see the hawks swooping
up, down and about . . .
We had a Coooers Hawk go through one of our
front windows a few years ago.
Found the hawk on the ground a few hours later . . .
Probably saw Snickers sitting in the window!
Great close up pics Missy . . .

What terrific pictures. I love to watch for hawks sitting in trees by the roadside but we don't have any around our apartment complex.

You were able to get some great photos. We see hawks here and because Theo is so little, we are always outdoors with him.

You took some great photos Missy. The colors on the hawks beck are pretty. I love the feathers too. Wow, a squirrel, amazing. I have seen hawks with mice. I asked my husband if they could get rabbits...he said possibly. Hope you are having good weather...it's been nice here. Today had some rain early. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Awwwww......I would hate to see a squirrel being carried off by a bird or another predator. I know that's life and suppose to happen, but I still hate seeing it. Whenever I watch animal documentaries that's the hard part to watch.
