SPARROWS VS BLUEBIRDS

Last year my brother in law made this "Bluebird" House.
I just wanted to share my Bluebirds with you.

We were hoping that this Spring we would be blessed
with a family of Bluebirds.

Judging from the flurry of brown activity around it recently,

the Bluebirds have lost out.

These Sparrows chirp...

House Sparrows and Song Sparrows look very much alike.
The white ring around its neck looks like a House Sparrow.
They sound like House Sparrows...Song Sparrows sing !
Imagine that!!

The Bluebirds came to the open house.

I guess they didn't like the layout or the neighborhood.

They dine at my feeders pretty regularly but don't stay around.
They seem to really like Sunflower Hearts.

Hello, what is the saying? You snooze, you loose. Poor bluebirds, were snoozing. The House Sparrows are not even native birds to the USA. We do not need more! Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

Cute little sparrows . . .
Wonder what the Bluebirds didn't like about the Ooen House?
I have heard that they like an open area, like fields and such . . .
Really cute post "Miss Missy" . . .

Missy, We have been running the sparrows from our bluebird houses. If there's just a twig or two...we throw it out...trying to encourage them to build elsewhere. I have seen bluebirds around here three different times. One year they got to the houses first and stayed. I am hoping they can stay again. I did not know that about sparrows singing , or chirping. Some times in big groups , it sounds much like fighting. :):) Hope you get the bluebirds there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Ah yes, the sparrows. We have so many here, I love the occasional birds of pretty colors that stop by. The starlings have just landed and they are the worst. They aren't even a little bit pretty or cute. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just have the birds we want? Special order?
