Fall has the most the beautiful sunsets and sunrises..

I got up early one AM to go to the bathroom...

I can see this birdhouse from my kitchen window.
He sure looked like a Downy Woodpecker when I first saw him.
I've never seen a Woodpecker in a birdhouse.
I have seen a Wren going in and out of there in the past few days.
I had to check my Wren pictures and I think it's a Wren.
He stayed like that for more than a half hour.
I never saw him leave so I couldn't see the rest of his body.

This is an old Wren picture...What do you think??
I'm still not sure.

More stuff.....

Zoey is hoping that Mr squirrel runs across the windowsill again.

May you always have something to do, someone to love and something to hope for.
Have a wonderful weekend.

I have rearranged my bird feeders to suit Zoey (and me).
I'm trying to keep her out of the kitchen sink
which meant moving the feeder from my kitchen window.
The problem is that it was my best feeder for pictures..
No reflection.

She spends hours at this window..sometimes sound asleep.
Have you ever seen/heard a cat bark at birds.?
That's what I call it anyway. It's kind of a chatter.
This is what it looks like.

We had rain all morning that day
and the feeders were really getting hit hard afterward.

Nothing exciting..
just a lot of various kinds of Finches.

The problem with these feeders is that
by keeping out the squirrels
they also keep out the bigger birds so there is not much variety.

Guess I'd best fill these pretty soon..

I know that  it's not quite October but our local dealerships,
Mercedes, Porsche, Audi and BMW,
held their annual Octoberfest for their customers
this past Saturday.
My sister, her husband and I have gone for the past few years.

The weather this year was sunny a a bit warm.
There was a nice breeze under the tent.

The food is always German fare with pulled pork and hot dogs
thrown in for good measure..

German potato salad...

Bratwurst...Light and Dark Beer.

The Oompah-pah band is great...hard not to dance..

They all have their shirts out to sell...

I thought about getting these for Mollie and Zoey...

I had a hard time deciding which of these three I wanted.

It would probably be this one which looks ice blue
but is actually grey. Very pretty.

Since I couldn't make up my mind,
Mollie and Zoey went without as well.

Thanks for everything Mercedes-Benz.

Yesterday we held our Annual Rock-A-Thon
for Alzheimers
There are teams of volunteers
on four of our porches and one inside venue.

Different departments come up with fundraising ideas
while volunteers sign up to rock for blocks of time
that add up to five hours.
This rocker was painted by Marketing and chances were sold
for its ownership.
Having rocked in it for an hour,
I can say that I am glad I have the padding that I do.

Dining sold chances on a Chef who would come to your house and cook a meal for eight .

Our maintenance Dept. came up with this great idea.

Marketing sold bags to be used as Luminaries on an evening in the future.
A personal message of your choice was written on the bag..
example.."In memory of".
They also sold tickets for a "paint night"  where the ticket holders
would all meet and do an acrylic painting of daisies.

A Marketing worker bee..

The chair from Fitness was sports related..
Imagine that..

A donation bought you a ten minute chair massage.

The clinic ladies sold Tacos in a bag...great idea.

I stopped over on the East side to see how they were doing.
I had to take a photo of the waterfall at our entrance.

More food was seen's always welcome.

This table was full of donated items and the team was made up of residents from one particular street.

It's too early to know how we did
but it was fun!!
