WHAT DOES SHE SEE?

Something has her attention.

Probably squirrels.
Don't you just love the way she has her little butt
 parked on my CD cabinet?
"Yes, you!"

She's not fat..she's had two litters and needs a tummy tuck.

I hope your weekend is fun filled...

SITTING AND WAITING

I walked by my living room window yesterday
and there he was just sitting on my porch railing.

Fortunately for me, he stays around awhile.
( That orange stake is a snow boundary..recently useful.)
These pictures were taken thru blinds and a window.
Sorry for the glare....

He was only about four feet away from me.
I'm glad Zoey didn't see him..he would have been gone.

We have seen piles of feathers here and there on our walks.
This morning he was on someones porch.
I guess we should name him..
He's smaller than another we often see ..
This one may be the female.
This one also doesn't have the colors in it's beak
that the larger one has.

A BLACK AND WHITE WORLD

During the night Saturday,
we had a few inches of "clean up" snow.

Our recent snowfall was at that dirty, pretty ugly stage.
Probably more than half of it was gone.

I love the branches when they look as if
someone had sprinkled them with powdered sugar.

This look is short lived.

Two hours later the branches were bare.

It was beautiful while it lasted.
Have a happy week.

IT'S OFFICIAL ...20 INCHES

Not a record but close enough for me!!
It will be around all this week..it's too cold to melt.
Maybe this weekend ?

My Weeping Cherry was and is full of birds waiting their turns
at the feeders.

I think most of these are Mourning Doves roosting in the trees
across my back yard.

Zoey spent all day with her chin resting on the windowsill
 watching birdies.

Lazy Kitty....

I haven't seen a Mocking Bird for awhile...
I know they are Northern residents but
they have been pretty scarce til now.

Happy St Paddy's Day !!

A QUICK BLIZZARD

Last Friday we had several hours of snow in the early morning.

Combined with a few afternoon snow squalls
we had a bit of an accumulation .

By afternoon the sun had come out so the grass
was green once again.

I heard on the TV this AM that we have had a whopping
five inches total snowfall this winter.
There is a coastal storm headed our way tonight which
could change that figure..we'll see.
If it does hit us,
it will stick around...it's colder.
Enjoy your week.

BACK IN THE TWENTIES

The crazy weather continues...
Snow, sleet, rain, very high winds and some sun as well.
These pictures are from last week..

Through it all these poor guys did our mulch.

An hour after I took this we had a white out...
(I was coming home from the grocery store).
They were all crammed in to their two trucks.

Scuz the shadows...

They did a good job.
Unfortunately, it will be soon blown away by their blowers.
You can see we are having freezing temps
by the ice in my bird bath.

I'll just wait a day or two and we'll be in the 50's !
These Lenten Roses will appreciate that..

PS
It was 65 yesterday..snow today
and back in the twenties for the weekend.
Don't forget to set your clocks ahead.
